Two weeks ago, we had Smooth McGroove come visit us in San Diego. We had a ton of fun, since I only really get to see him at cons, it was sick to talk, jam, and explore southern California. One of the things we did was play this song with Adriana on Adriana's stream while he was here and I remember Adriana being like, \"how have you not covered this before?\"
I did a medley of Twilight Princess music back in 2011 in which I included it, but I didn't do a whole lot with it in the medley. I really wanted to give it another try and give it an extended cover.
This song always gave me a similar feeling that Opeth's Windowpane gave me, so I tried to emulate that style with this cover while also continuing with trying to shy away from my templates and comfort zones with production. I picked up some new expansions for Superior Drummer so I did my best with the time I had to try and emulate some of the drums sounds from Damnation, but it was a little hard to get them to sound just right with the mix and faithful. Tried to just find a happy medium. Anyway, hope you dig what I ended up trying with this.
