Sweet Trip's debut album, Halica, was released in 1998 as the eleventh volume of Darla Records \"Bliss Out\" series. The label hand-picked Sweet Trip for this series of releases, which featured more ambient, downtempo, and electronic-influenced bands hovering on the edge of the American indie scene, and also included releases from bands Japancakes, Lilys, Bright, Aartika, and Orange Cake Mix. This record is much more sedated and downtempo than Sweet Trip's later blends of IDM and dream pop, and large parts of the album are entirely ambient. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of their later achievements, it's a relaxing album filled with pretty, warm melodies that can serve as music for a quiet afternoon of studying or relaxation if you get bored of \"anime chill study beats\"
