Sonum X - Purifire (New Full Album) Sonum X is a Heavy Psych band from Mantua, Italy. The band made its own debut with the self-titled EP in November 2016. The first full length ‘Purifire’ was released on June 21st 2019. Here Sonum X unites the most lysergic stoner heritage, a few touches of alternative rock and a remarkable inventiveness in a work that in its derivative being shows personality and a sincere love for music. Their \"Intro\" combines almost electronic minimalism and a pseudo-western taste, and is able to immediately evoke the desert outside Palm Springs to which the Sonum X clearly look with love; but already the following title track rises in search of a successful synthesis with more psychedelic and at the same time scratchy components. Also on other occasions, there are highly effective lysergic peaks: F
For example in “T. Ripper X \", where the excellent technical skills of the band also emerge, or on\" Spectrum \", with its filtered singing, and in general it hits the expressive freedom of the band. The songs are sometimes cloaked in a melodic gloom, the rhythms are definitely less syncopated, but there is something equally suffered in singing. On “Manhattan” there is also an unpublished saxophone, but the most granitic component is not abandoned, thanks to the ability to insert in every song riffs that have their roots in hard rock and in the most crystalline heavy metal, however veered towards the stoner world: As in \"Psychotemple\", whose Sabbathian roots are powerful.
Initially delicate, but extremely abrasive, \"Fading Flowers\" throws us in the freer nineties, halfway between Seattle and the Rancho de la Luna, while the acidic \"Days Of Wolves\", in which the gloomy riff and hallucinated vocal line almost suggest Pentagram. Musically there is something for all tastes, without pimping and with great ideas.
