Doris Eaton, born 1904, was a performer in the 1918-1919 and 1920 Ziegfeld Follies, making over 440 stage appearances. Here, she sings Broken Up Tune from the 1929 RKO film "Street Girl", her 9th picture. Doris Eaton Travis was the last of the Ziegfeld Follies Girls living to age 106 in 2010. The movie also saw the introduction of one of the most popular songs of that era, "Lovable and Sweet" played here by Gus Arnheim and his Cocoanut Grove Ambassadors. The song was introduced by Jack Oakie, John Harron, Ned Sparks and Guy Buccola. Street Girl starred Betty Compson as Frederika Joyzelle with Doris being cast as a singer at the Club Joyzelle. The movie was filmed in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Annette Hanshaw made a very popular recording of "Lovable ans Sweet" on OKEH label 41292 in August 1929 which can be seen on this channel.
