'To escape a global extinction event Earth’s populations are induced into comas, their bodies housed in vast concrete banks known as Cathedrals.
In the wake of catastrophe, Penrose, a gifted interspatial medium, returns to a silent Earth on a resurrection mission. Psychically linked with the sleeping-dead, Penrose discovers a bio-technologically realised universe, the Interzone: a boundless consensus reality beyond time; the shared dreamstate of a sleeping world.
With life support dwindling, Penrose must choose between a limitless utopia or humanity’s survival, and the bitter reality of a dying world...'
Interzone is a neo-concrète exploration of the intensive zones beyond standard perceptual audio thresholds: the inner spaces of sound brimming with texture and microtonal details hitherto unheard, exploring time, spatial relationships of sound, lost futures, and the liminal intersection of technology and ritual.
Inspired by the prescient works of J G Ballard, David Cronenberg and Mark Fisher, Interzone transcribes the unheeded warnings and pre-occupations of yester-decades into an audio document, a lexicon to decode a (post-)pandemic-era society. It makes excellent accompaniment for reading fictional dystopian literature, social media feeds and headlines alike.
