Written by Ron Dante and Gene Allan Arranged and produced by Bob Feldman.
Ron Dante, who co-wrote the song, was the voice behind the Detergents, the Archies and the Cuff Links. This recording was made during his association with Gene Allen and Bob Feldman; Bob being one third of the Feldman-Gottehrer-Goldstein team.
“The Absence Of Lisa” was also released by the Young Folk on Mercury and by Jimmy Clanton on Imperial. Ron Dante arranged Jimmy’s version. None of the three versions charted.
