[STORY]

\"The centre of every universe is home to an eternal relic of unfathomable age. Any creature or species capable of reaching the relic at the centre of their universe will be assimilated and have their physical being destroyed, but in doing so will be granted the honor of creating the next universe to their exact specifications, and to some extent they will become a god. Their essence becomes the Eternal Relic in the new universe.

This is the story of the Argonaut. A lonely traveller of unknown origin, destined to journey the endless expanse in his quest to undo the untold tragedies of his kind and to start anew.\"

[TRACK ANALYSIS]

\"Red Shift\" is pretty much the start of the Argonaut's journey. He is full of energy and excitement. Features my favorite solo ever in the breakdown - some mad mixolydian action! Also keep an ear out for some slow phrasing which later gets reprised in \"Cosmic Drift (The Eternal Sleep).\" Learn the pre-breakdown sweep section here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HY4ZLqjFSw and check out the video of me playing the breakdown solo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WddR8fFeN0Y

\"Pillars of Creation\" is the track where the Argonaut sees the beauty of the universe. At the end of the song he dearly misses his home world and what his people used to be.

\"Virulent Worlds\" is a short heavy metal piece where the Argonaut is forced to land on a formidable and dangerous planet to make repairs to his ship. The wailing, sweep picking harmonies, and choir section is him nearly burning up in a super high-velocity entry into a hot and corrosive atmosphere. The end of the track is his ship touching down. Check out a video lesson for the neoclassical intro here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RZHlYB_J5c

\"Journey Across the Infinite\". His ship is repaired and once again blazing through the void of space with newfound vigour.

\"Synesthesia of Space and Time\". This is an older track and I nearly excluded it from my album as the quality is from when my guitar and audio mixing skills weren't so satisfactory. In the second half, the Argonaut discovers his superhuman ability to perceive and manipulate space and time simultaneously. Check out the video lesson for the neoclassical middle section here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2l0aiDpm_I and check out the lesson for the mixolydian outro here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE4cmiXxwA4

\"Trials of a Hero\". This is a heavily neoclassically influenced track. The Argonaut experiences mixed emotions as he draws nearer to the Eternal Relic at the centre of the universe.

\"Cosmic Drift (The Eternal Sleep)\". This slow rock piece in the Lydian scale is all about the huge periods of cryofreeze/hypersleep inbetween the Argonaut's expeditions throughout his journey. He dreams of the past and future. Of those he left behind. Of the task ahead. Of the true size of the universe. All the while his slumbering ship drifts through the cosmos. Check out a video of me playing the solo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgFYoYfU7VY

\"The Assimilation\". This is journey's end. A few final thoughts before the Argonaut is assimilated and his destiny fulfilled.
