Renee was originally recorded over the original beat for "Don't Front (I Got Cha Opin)" by Black Moon. Because of that producers made many attempts to find the right original match. By the time the Lost Boyz were signed to Uptown Records, they recorded THIS version of Renee, produced and co-written by Cooler Ruler Divine (formerly Big Dex). It became a favorite of many but it wasn't commercial enough for the investors. Since then, two more versions were recorded and released, the "Don't Dog the Donut" version that's available on the soundtrack for Don't Be A Menace While Drinking Your Juice In the Hood & the Mr Sexxx version found on the final copy of Universal Records' "Legal Drug Money".
