Scarlet hood is the debut album from Gnomewalls. Straying away from the lofi experimental punk sound of the Fractal Smog EP, and keeping the more atmospheric, moody, and DIY aspects of both the Fractal Smog and Arcturus EP’s.
Gnomewalls combines this atmospheric and homemade sound with dreary, yet in your face, guitar and vocals. Both acoustic and electric guitars are featured on the record. It also consists of more lyrical songwriting, hard hitting but lofi drums on a few tracks, as well as appearances of pianos, mellotrons, and strings. With the perfect mix of full songs and instrumentals on the album, it maintains a laid back, slower feeling, but is still made up of many other emotions, speeds, and sounds that stray from that.
This is the first step of many more to come for Gnomewalls - the beginning of the journey.
