100% Take Home! Is one of a handful of albums by Whatever, Dad, the now-finished pop project of Elaiza Santos. It might be a cliche of my channel descriptions by now, but if you can see Elaiza perform live, fucking do it. Really. As Whatever, Dad, Elaiza would command an audience without raising her voice; sometimes, she?d find the logical conclusion by performing without a microphone. The songs were already quiet, so to hear them, the audience had to hush up like attentive churchgoers. This record is made of inviting vignettes with lean arrangements and lovely harmonies, and, if I had to guess, is the defining set of Whatever, Dad songs (friends a year older may disagree). Definitive bedroom pop. ?Stalemate? and ?Spud? will take up space in your head for weeks, no matter how quietly you listen to ?em.
