Released on July 1, 1998, Confidence is the first studio album of the band Downface. The band members shared an interest in several bands, which helped to shape their sound. While the album did not garner any mainstream success, the song \"Alone\" became famous when it was mistaken for a collaboration between members of Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains or, less likely, members of Tool and Creed. Other notable songs include \"Lies\", \"Frustrated\", \"Bring Me Down\", \"Ocean\", \"Head Case\", and the acoustic version of \"Alone\".
