Walter Brown began singing with the Jay McShann orch. in 1941 and had a hit that same year with \"Confessin' the Blues\".
He went solo in 1944 and recorded for the Queen label. 1947 he recorded some sides with the Tiny Grimes Sextet which resulted in their version of the hit \"Open the Door Richard\".
This disc was considered to risque and was banned from most radio play lists. The label withdrew it from sale soon there after.
