Originating in October, 1921 from the Knickerbocker Grill Orchestra, Elkins' musicians were from California with many from the Los Angeles Symphony. This Columbia A-3751 from October 22, 1922, shows tremendous talent from the group already playing in the newer style and with a very hot arrangement in the bargain! Their recordings continued through October, 1925, barely making it into the Viva-Tonal era with their last recording of Sunny. They also made several sides on Okeh in 1924.
